Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park
Fly from Zanzibar to Arusha in the morning, where your safari guide picks you up for the drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire also offers sightings of lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. Enjoy a full or half-day game drive and overnight at a lodge or tented camp near the park.
Drive from Tarangire to Serengeti
After breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro highlands toward the Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous park. As you enter the Serengeti, the vast plains unfold with wildlife everywhere—wildebeest, zebras, lions, and possibly cheetahs or leopards. Enjoy an en-route game drive and spend the night in the heart of the Serengeti under the stars at a safari camp.
Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, as thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains. Search for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) and enjoy wildlife action by rivers, kopjes, and open savannas. Return to your camp for a classic bush dinner.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Enjoy a morning game drive as you leave the Serengeti and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route, visit a Maasai village (optional) and see the dramatic change in landscape as you approach the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Overnight at a lodge or camp near the crater with spectacular views.
Game Drive in the Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of the richest wildlife areas on Earth. Spot lions, hippos, elephants, and possibly the endangered black rhino in this natural enclosure. After lunch, drive to the Lake Manyara area for overnight at a lodge/camp nestled near the escarpment.
Explore Lake Manyara and Fly Back to Zanzibar
After breakfast, explore Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, flocks of flamingos, and lush groundwater forests. Enjoy a game drive along the lakeshore, then transfer back to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar.
