Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins in Arusha, where our guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. After a quick briefing, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes about 2–3 hours. As you enter the park, you’ll immediately notice the iconic baobab trees and the vast open landscape. The Tarangire River runs through the park and attracts large numbers of animals, especially during the dry season. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, looking out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and possibly big cats like lions and leopards. By late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and head to your campsite nearby. Dinner will be served at camp, and you'll spend your first night under the stars, listening to the sounds of the African bush.
Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at the campsite, you’ll pack up and begin the long but scenic drive towards Serengeti National Park. On the way, you’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll see stunning highland scenery, traditional Maasai villages, and possibly some wildlife along the road. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch before entering the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate. Once inside, you’ll enjoy a game drive as you make your way toward the central Serengeti, known for its abundant wildlife, especially predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Depending on the time of year, you may also catch a glimpse of the Great Migration herds. In the evening, you’ll arrive at a public campsite in the Serengeti where your tents will be set up. Dinner will be prepared by your safari chef, and you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of nature around you.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today begins with an early morning game drive, the best time to spot wildlife when the animals are most active. After enjoying the sunrise over the Serengeti plains and hopefully seeing some hunting action, you’ll return to camp for breakfast. Then, you’ll begin your journey back through the Serengeti, giving you another chance to spot animals you may have missed. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch along the way before entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Simba Campsite, located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The air is cooler here, and you’ll have beautiful views into the crater below. Dinner will be served at camp, and you'll enjoy your last night camping in the wild.
Ngorongoro Crater Tour and Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to a wide variety of animals, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. The crater’s enclosed environment makes wildlife viewing easy and rewarding. You’ll likely see hippos, zebras, hyenas, and flamingos too. You’ll stop for lunch at a picnic site near a hippo pool before beginning the drive back to Arusha in the afternoon. You’ll arrive in the early evening, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport, bringing your safari to a close with memories of an unforgettable wildlife adventure.
