Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Loge Stay near Ngorongoro
Start your morning with pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Arusha. After a short briefing, drive (~2 hours) to Tarangire National Park, known for its large herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal Tarangire River, which draws in a wide range of animals, especially during the dry season.
Enjoy a game drive through diverse habitats where you may see elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, and many bird species. After the safari and a picnic lunch, continue driving towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you’ll check in at a comfortable lodge near the crater.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. The crater floor offers a unique chance to see the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and if lucky, the critically endangered black rhino.
Enjoy a half-day game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, usually near a scenic hippo pool. After your safari, ascend the crater wall and begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
