Arusha – Game Drive in Tarangire National Park – Camp near Ngorongoro
You’ll be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Arusha by your guide in a private 4x4 safari vehicle. After a 2-hour drive, arrive at Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, and abundant wildlife around the Tarangire River.
Enjoy a full-day game drive spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, wildebeests, ostriches, and much more. Tarangire is especially active during the dry season when animals flock to the river. After the game drive, continue toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, where you’ll set up camp at a public campsite (like Simba Camp) near the crater rim. Enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars, with sounds of nature all around.
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha
Wake up early for breakfast, then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five—especially lions and the rare black rhino. The crater floor is home to an incredible density of wildlife including hippos, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and flocks of flamingos in Lake Magadi.
After a half-day game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll ascend and begin your return drive to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
