Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Camp at Lake Manyara Area
After an early breakfast, your safari guide picks you up from your Arusha hotel. Drive (~2 hours) to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds, towering baobab trees, and diverse wildlife around the Tarangire River.
Enjoy a full-day game drive, spotting elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and more. Tarangire is especially active during the dry season as animals gather at the river. In the late afternoon, head to a public campsite near Lake Manyara where you’ll set up camp, enjoy a hot dinner, and relax by the campfire.
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Camp
Rise early and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and one of the most wildlife-dense places on Earth. Descend 600 meters to the crater floor for a half-day game drive.
You’ll likely see lions, hyenas, hippos, elephants, and if lucky, the elusive black rhino. The lush environment and permanent water supply support over 25,000 large animals year-round. After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, ascend from the crater and return to your campsite near Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight.
Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, a lush park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its small size, the park is rich in ecosystems and famous for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and a seasonal lake often dotted with flamingos and other water birds.
After the game drive and a picnic lunch, you’ll head back to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon — marking the end of your exciting 3-day adventure.
