Arusha to Tarangire National Park
You’ll be picked up in the morning from your hotel in Arusha and begin the drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). Known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a great start to your safari with plenty of wildlife including lions, zebras, giraffes, and birds. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. In the evening, head to a campsite near the park or in Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll have dinner and spend your first night under the stars.
Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll begin the scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views, Maasai villages, and optional stops like the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Upon entering the Serengeti, you’ll do a game drive en route to your campsite in the Seronera area — famous for big cats and active wildlife year-round. Enjoy dinner and your first night camping inside the Serengeti.
Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today is dedicated to a full day of wildlife viewing in the Serengeti. Start early with a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. The rest of the day will be spent exploring different areas of the park depending on wildlife movement. You may see lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, and possibly the Great Migration herds (depending on the season). After a picnic lunch, continue your game drive until late afternoon. Return to the same campsite for dinner and overnight.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back east toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a final game drive in Serengeti as you exit the park. You'll have lunch on the way, and by afternoon, ascend to the crater rim, where you’ll camp at Simba Campsite. This spot offers incredible views into the crater and a cooler climate. Dinner will be served at camp as you prepare for an early start the next day.
Ngorongoro Crater Tour and Drive to Lake Manyara
You’ll rise early for breakfast, then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five, especially black rhinos and lions. You’ll also see hippos, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and possibly flamingos. After lunch at a picnic site near a hippo pool, you'll ascend from the crater and drive to a campsite near Lake Manyara National Park, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night.
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
Your final day begins with a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its lush groundwater forests, diverse birdlife, tree-climbing lions, and hippo-filled lakes. It’s a small but scenic park offering a relaxing end to your safari. After the game drive and lunch, you’ll return to Arusha in the afternoon, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
