Arrival and Safari Start
Arrive in Moshi or Arusha and transfer to your safari lodge or camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Tarangire or Ngorongoro, spotting elephants, lions, zebras, and more.
Safari Game Drives and Transfer to Moshi
Continue your morning safari game drive, then drive back to Moshi in the afternoon. Prepare for the trek with a gear check and briefing.
Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (3,000m)
Drive to Machame Gate for registration. Begin the trek through lush rainforest to Machame Camp, enjoying the diverse flora and fauna.
Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840m)
Climb through moorland to Shira Camp, crossing the Shira Plateau with great views of Kilimanjaro’s glaciers.
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,900m)
Hike to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp, located beneath the dramatic Barranco Wall.
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,000m)
Climb the Barranco Wall and descend into Karanga Valley for rest and acclimatization.
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m) and summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m), descend to Mweka Gate and return to Moshi
Ascend to Barafu Camp to rest, then start the summit push before dawn. Celebrate at Uhuru Peak and descend to Mweka Gate. Transfer back to Moshi or your next destination.
