Arrival and Preparation in Moshi
Arrive in Moshi and meet your guide for a detailed briefing on the trek, gear check, and preparation. Rest and acclimatize in town before the adventure begins.
Machame Gate to Machame Camp (3,000m)
Drive to Machame Gate for registration, then start your trek through lush rainforest to Machame Camp. This moderate hike introduces you to the mountain’s natural beauty.
Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840m)
Ascend from Machame Camp into the moorland zone, passing unique vegetation and stunning views as you make your way to Shira Camp.
Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,950m)
Traverse the Shira Plateau before descending into the Barranco Valley. This day offers spectacular views and a challenging climb up the Barranco Wall.
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
Descend into the Karanga Valley, a shorter but important day that helps with acclimatization and prepares you for the summit push.
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Start the final summit push before dawn, reaching Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa—at sunrise. After celebrating, descend to Mweka Camp for rest.
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Return to Moshi
Complete your descent through the forest to Mweka Gate. After registration, drive back to Moshi for your final drop-off and celebration of your successful climb.
